At long last I’ve had a chance to bake again. There’s nothing like a few months off to get you craving some kitchen time again, or is that just me??

What’s the collective noun for a group of Father Christmases / Santa Clauses / St Nicholases, as we met about 2,000 of them this morning?! A merriment perhaps? This week couldn’t have felt more festive if it tried!

No blog from me last week as I was taking it easy after the London Zoo Stampede. Working my socks off at the moment so trying to make the most of the downtime when I can get it. Looking for an extra pair of hands too if you know someone who’ll fit the bill…

I love London Marathon day – massive congratulations to all my mates who ran today. It’s 12 years since I ran the London Marathon myself so today it’s time to put my money where my mouth is. Thankfully there’s a good few bakers up for it next year too.

It’s no exaggeration to say that I had one of the best days of my life this week. Still pinching myself just thinking about it. And of course there was also cake this week (there’s always cake).

If you’ve got a plant-based person in your life, I’m here with the perfect treat for them – a delicious, vegan carrot cake recipe on the blog this week.

I was lucky enough to go to the ChildLine 30th Anniversary Ball this week. It was a Bake Off themed event and best of all, all of this year’s Great British Bake Off stars were there too!

My kitchen’s been like a cake factory this week. Not bad timing for the first week of The Great British Bake Off to start again.

I’ve had a very busy week catching up with a lot of good friends. Hugely proud of Martha too, as she launched her first (of many I’m sure) recipe book, Twist.
