We don’t have Thanksgiving in the UK, but if we did, I reckon it might feel a bit like this week. It’s been an opportunity to look back on the year, spend time with good friends and say thank you.

First blog of the year and it’s a resolution-free zone. Time for a quick look back and look forward though. I’ll feel ready for 2017 once the hangover subsides…

My final baking projects of the year are done and dusted and I’m really looking forward to Christmas now. The only bakes left to make are the ones that my family and I are going to enjoy over the next week or so. If you want to give the gingerbread house above a go, this week’s blog has everything you need to know.

Feeling hungry? Bake. Feeling down? Bake. Feeling bored? Bake. Feeling excited about Christmas? Bake. Want to cheer someone up? Bake. Want to raise some money for charity? Bake. I’m not saying baking will solve all your problems, but it’s a pretty good place to start!

What a week! I wasn’t particularly looking forward to turning 40 but if every week is like this one’s been, I reckon I could get used to it.

What a year! Thanks for following my recipes and blog updates this year. Here’s what I’ve been up to for the past few weeks and my run-down of 2015…

I’ve reverted back to being a big kid this week and loved every minute! One of the best things about being a parent is getting to enjoy so much “kids’ stuff” so I make the most of it as often as I can.
I’ve had a fantastic week this week getting to do some really cool things and ending in a great Father’s Day.
