All change in our gaff this week as I’m starting on an exciting new house project. With the weather, the conkers and the back-to-school mayhem, autumn’s come with a bang!

It was National Chocolate Cake Day on Friday so I made this little beauty. I thought it had been a while since I’d posted a recipe so I’m sharing it on this week’s blog.

It’s raining, it’s cold, the heating’s on, the winter duvet’s on the bed. Donald Trump might become the most powerful man on the planet in a few days. What better time to hunker down and eat cake. Come on, join me, you know it makes sense!

It’s two years this week since I started blogging so to celebrate I’m sharing a fantastic egg-free chocolate cake recipe with you. I’ve spent all week baking and still have loads more to do for an event on Wednesday but currently stuffed full of trifle and lazing on the sofa.

My kitchen’s been like a cake factory this week. Not bad timing for the first week of The Great British Bake Off to start again.

A perfect recipe for the summer, whether the sun decides it wants to make an appearance or not. Coconut, rum, pineapple, lime – I’m getting hungry again just thinking about it! And apparently next Sunday is Piña Colada Day, so great timing.
