We’ve been celebrating our daughter’s 4th birthday today so just a quick blog update as I’m all partied out!

Some back-to-basics baking this week with two simple bread recipes for making on a camping stove. Follow these on your next holiday under canvas and you can’t go wrong.

It’s been a book-themed week this week in our house. Plus Bake Off was back on the box, cutting through the January gloom.

So apparently 17 January is ‘Ditch Your New Year’s Resolutions‘ day. Don’t beat yourself up about it if you’ve joined this club. When it’s cold outside and you’re skint after Christmas you need to cut yourself some slack!

What a year! Thanks for following my recipes and blog updates this year. Here’s what I’ve been up to for the past few weeks and my run-down of 2015…

It’s been a busy couple of weeks since my last blog post. One of my post-GBBO highlights has been appearing on my favourite gameshow, Pointless, which aired last night. It was such a laugh watching it back yesterday. If you haven’t seen it yet, catch it on iPlayer as there are spoilers below!
This year has rattled by and with November now here, it’s only a matter of weeks until the new addition to our family is due. I’ve been trying to get to as many places as possible to promote my book before ‘d-day’, which this week has meant some really fun visits.
This week’s been all about celebrating good food, and boy has there been a lot of it! But what’s the fastest food in the world? Scone! (I’ll get my coat). I’m sharing my St David’s Day recipe for bacon, leek and Welsh Cheddar scones today too.
Today was our youngest daughter’s 3rd birthday party and the first kid’s party we’ve had since the Bake Off aired so the pressure was on on the birthday cake front! I’ve had a pretty awesome baking week as I started shooting for my book this week too.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner so I’m sharing an easy bake to make for the one you love (or for yourself!) It’s for the chocolate brownies pictured above, and they’re delicious. I’ve had another busy old week to update you all on first though…
