It’s Mother’s Day next Sunday so this weekend I invented a cake based on my Mum, Mother-in-Law and Wife’s favourite dessert: tiramisu. Follow the recipe below to make the mum in your life know how appreciated she is.

Death by chocolate, dancing dogs and chainsaw fun on tonight’s blog. It was my birthday this week so I was on the receiving end of a cake for a change. I’ve been really spoilt by my family and also had a fab weekend lumberjacking thanks to the team at STIHL.

I do a lot of food demos all over the country but one this week got me thinking much more than usual and sparked off a bit of an early spring clean for me.

No matter what your politics, this has been an extraordinary week. I’ve been taking comfort in some of life’s more simple pleasures this week: family, food, fresh air and music.

This week’s cake took a few hours and a steady hand but hopefully some of the tips I’ll share on today’s blog will help you try piping like this yourselves.

My final baking projects of the year are done and dusted and I’m really looking forward to Christmas now. The only bakes left to make are the ones that my family and I are going to enjoy over the next week or so.
